Why a blog on money asked my friend John?

Well why not was my first response - but then it did get me thinking?
Apart from the fact that I like money matters. The fact is I think most of us except those souls who have managed to gain spiritual enlightenment work, study, network with the primary aim to get rich...most people I know do? maybe I am not mixing with the right crowd.
But anyhow why not disseminate accurate and timely information so that people can make good decisions that may help them to achieve their monetary goals?
Hence my attempt at blogging

This blog is an attempt to simplify and ease the understanding of the sometimes complex world of finance.
To answer questions like :
- Should I put money in a 401K?
- What is asset allocation and does it help me in any way?
- What is the most that I can lose in one year in my portfolio?
- Can I insure I can come up with the downpayment for my dream house in 5 years?
- We are having a baby!! Should I change my investment strategy?
- How can I not become a victim of insurance fraud or identity theft?
- Where can I get more information, books, websites?
